I am a powerful moving tool of a working whole.
Then I came across rugby and it was the very first time I felt validated in the body I was in. There was a place and a position for you to play regardless of what size and shape you are.
It was so validating to be powerful and see what a group of women - regardless of their shape and size - can do as a whole. The brute force of that.. it was amazing.
I had gotten criticized for putting myself in danger of being hurt or destroyed on the field by people who didn't understand. And I was working out for 2-3 hours, 6 days of the week. and I actually got heavier. And I stayed thick. And I stayed curvy. And I still had this belly apron.
